Lazy people + bullet points = TRUE LOVE.

  • For my 20th birthday I... ate a whole lot of Chinese food. Exciting, right? So far, the only difference I've noticed is that the urge to move out is approximately twenty bajillion times stronger than it was a week ago. Also, I've been doing a lot more laundry, because I want to wear the Mystery Science Theater shirt that my sister got me every single day.

  • Rescue Me is soooo good! How come no one told me this? And does anyone else find Denis Leary strangely... hot... in it? Because, um, I might. Just a little. Ew, I know. Pee-colored hair. Gross. Shut up.

  • Veronica Mars was great tonight. Alyson Hannigan continued her streak of playing annoying, late-season Willow on shows that are not Buffy, but she was in it for such a short amount of time (and surrounded by brilliance even then) that the effect was minimal. SVU was mildly disappointing (not enough Alex), but whatever, it was still good (because there was Alex). I did not realize how much I missed her until she came back.

  • Battlestar Galactica continues to rock. The Boomer stuff is starting to grate, but everything else about the show makes up for it. Yay for shows that I can watch for more than one character (*coughaliascough*)!

  • Speaking of certain annoyingly crappy shows, SARK IS BACK TOMORROW NIGHT. Sweet zombie Jesus, it is about damn time. And I need to cut down on the TV watching, like, A LOT...

  • But it's hard, because I am apparently physically incapable of changing the channel when I flip by 8 Mile on VH1. I know, Eminem is a jerk, a sexist, etc., etc. But every time I see him, I am ENTHRALLED.

  • I have been at my job for nearly a year now. Woah. Time flies when you are busy harassing stupid people.

  • Not being in school is TOTALLY AWESOME.

  • I will pay someone one million dollars to come over and knock me unconscious so I can finally go to sleep.

For those of you who made it this far... well, I never said I was exciting and/or not-lame. Sorry!

In other news, I cannot stop listening to this song. It is so, so addictive. Damn you, JC!

[livejournal.com profile] zerosen and I kicked off the Summer of Fun this weekend the way we kick everything off: by watching Mystery Science Theater and eating.

The short they showed before the actual movie begged some questions that Kaity and I feel need to be answered: Why the crap did people in the 50s need a public service announcement to inform them of how important springs (as in, metal coils) were to their lives? Would someone ever actually wish to "never see a spring again in [their] life"? Was there really that big of an anti-spring movement that it would need to be counteracted with a vigorous campaign of pro-spring propaganda? Please, someone help us to understand, so we can move on with our lives!

The actual movie, Squirm, was quite possibly the greatest thing I have ever seen in my life. The accents! The hair! People sleeping in pitch-black bars, completely unaware of the worms crawing around on their feet! A man being knocked unconscious by and then trapped under a small piece of 1/8" plywood! Mutated killer worms! A worm farm! A man saying "ZU-prize" instead of suprise in the hick-ish-est accent ever! Seriously, I don't know how they managed to cram so much goodness into one movie.

After MST3k, we watched the Alias finale, which was entertaining, but was made even more entertaining by the random insertion of "ZU-prize" into the dialoge by Kaity and I. And there were a hella lotta places to stick that in, my friends. Seriously, Best. Mispronunciation. Ever. I have more things to say about Alias in my next post, but for now, suffice it to say, it needed some Shirtless!Sark. Vaughn got to be tortured while shirtless; the least he can do is torture Sark while shirtless back.

Next week on the Summer of Fun: Kingston? Baseball game? Who the hell knows? But I can assure you that it will be FUN.

I finally broke down and got a paid account for the 15 icons and the custom mood themes. The kickin' Futurama one I'm using right now is by [livejournal.com profile] anniesj, by the way. We'll see how long it lasts, though... I'm not sure how long I can withstand the siren call of Jack Sparrow and Commodore Norrington.

I should have gone to bed, like, 4 hours ago, but Karena and Garrett rented this craptacular remake of Carrie with Rena Sofer as one of Carrie's teachers, and I somehow got sucked into it. So, so terrible. God.

Joan of Arcadia was even more excellent than usual last night. I love Adam, and Joan, and Grace, and Luke, and even (especially) Mr. Price, even though to me he will always be the evil Professor Jeremiah Lasky, who stole Kelly from Zack on Saved By the Bell: The College Years. Patrick Fabian oozes smarm like nobody's buisness, and I love him for it. I'm suprised no crazy person on fanfiction.net has started an epic "Feisty Woman Teaches Mr. Price HOW TO LOVE" fanfic yet. I mean, there are approximately 89,753,854 Krycek ones out there, and Sark is starting to get a decent amount as well... as the JoA equivalent of them, I would suspect at least one out there for me to mock guiltily read ignore.

I'm torn about Alias' seven-month hiatus. On the one hand, it's a loooonnng time to wait between episodes, but then again, it means there will be NO REPEATS next season, which can only be a good thing, since all the suspense they build up at the end of an episode is inevitably lost for me during the month-long breaks between episodes (especially when the episodes aren't that suspensful to begin with... like most of this season).

Banana sundaes are so damn good. Mmmmmm.

Okay. Bed. Now.

I didn't have to work yesterday because it was APRIL 16th, which is apparently a national holiday for CPAs, but you know what I ended up doing with that extra time? Stoichiometry. Someone kill me.

And now I'm still doing homework (although I'm not really sure ranting about Scully's descent into dumbassdom actually qualifies as "homework") while I wait for the pilot episode of Touching Evil to finish downloading (Creegan is Kyle! From The Pretender! You totally decide who lives or dies, baby), since I apparently am completely incapable of catching it during any of the ten-thousand times it airs every week.

Anyway, it's a good time for new shows, since Angel has been boring the crap out of me (and the finale spoilers? Whatever, Joss) and Alias, well... Sark had better hurry up and reveal his secret evil plan, because all this stuff with him defending Lauren's complete ineptitude? Fuckin' weak.

hotcha!
